1st July, 2009John Lees' Barclay James Harvest have announced another concert in Germany on their 2009 tour. They play the Bad Aibling former US Base Airport Hangar on November 20th (near Munich).
Kev Whitehead On Rock Radio
27th June, 2009Kev Whitehead has been interviewed by Steve Berry of Rock Radio Manchester. He talked mostly about drums, but also his forthcoming shows with JLBJH. The interview will be broadcast on Monday, 29th June, between 6.00 and 9.00 am ("Steve Berry at Breakfast"), and can be heard on 106.1 in the Manchester area, or online at www.rockradio.co.uk. If Pete Townshend's recent interview in the same place is anything to go by, you should be able to re-listen to it on their website for about a week after the broadcast.
Online Ticket Sales
24th June, 2009It has come to our attention that some ticket reseller web sites are offering tickets for the autumn JLBJH tour at vastly inflated prices. These sites are often based abroad and have not been supplied with tickets by the band or their agents. We recommend that you only buy tickets direct from the venues or through the authorised outlets to which we link in our concert listings above.
Portuguese Date Changed
19th June, 2009Please note that the date of the John Lees' Barclay James Harvest concert at the Aula Magna, University of Lisbon, has had to be changed to Friday, October 9th. This is due to difficulties in arranging transportation for the band for the concert in Berlin on the day after the original Portuguese date. Apologies for any inconvenience caused ...
Tickets are available from http://www.ticketline.pt
JLBJH add a German date
1st June, 2009John Lees' Barclay James Harvest have announced another concert in Germany on their 2009 tour. They play the Essen Weststadthalle (Thea-Laymann Strasse 23, Essen) on November 22nd.
JLBJH in Italy
15th May, 2009John Lees' Barclay James Harvest have announced another concert in their 2009 tour, this time in Italy. They play the Live Music Club in Trezzo sull' Adda, which is 30km from Milan, on November 18th. The venue's web site (in Italian, naturally!) can be found at www.liveclub.it.
JLBJH in Germany!
7th May, 2009It is with great pleasure that John Lees' Barclay James Harvest announce two concert appearances in Germany, the first since December 2000.
On Saturday 15th August 2009 the band will close the Homburg Festival near Saarbrücken, a large open air event with free admission with an attendance of 20,000.
On Sunday 4th October 2009, the band will be closing a special free concert event at the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin which is being held to coincide with the final day of a series of large international events and conferences being held in Berlin that week. JLBJH will take the stage at approximately 7pm.
Further details of both events will be given as soon as websites for both events are on-line.
The group are looking forward immensely to performing to German audiences once more later this year.
Toronto Concert Cancelled
23rd April, 2009It is with regret that due to unforeseen increased production costs the John Lees' Barclay James Harvest concert at the Opera House, Toronto on May 6th has been cancelled. John, Woolly, Craig, Kevin and Jez apologise to all fans for this inconvenience. Full refunds on tickets purchased will be sent out over the next seven days via PayPal.
The band will still be performing as headline act at the ROSFEST event on May 3rd in Glenside PA and look forward to seeing you there.
Orchestral Concert Confirmed
26th March, 2009It is now confirmed that JLBJH will be performing the second half of their set at Shrewsbury with the National Symphony Orchestra. This is a must-see concert, as it may be the only chance to see the band perform some rarely-heard material with an orchestra, and the line-up for the festival is immense!
The JLBJH performance will not be filmed, so the only way to see this unique performance is to be there.
Confirmed to play on the same bill as JLBJH on the Sunday are Melanie, the electric Strawbs and Jethro Tull. JLBJH will be on last - regardless of any other billing considerations, they will be the only band performing with the orchestra, so the logistics of changovers etc. dictate that they need to be on last.
The Friday line-up includes The Carl Palmer Band, Wetton-Downes iCon, Jefferson Starship, Steve Howe and Alvin Lee.
Saturday's bill boasts Mostly Autumn, Focus, Martin Turner's Wishbone Ash, It's A Beautiful Day, Jack Bruce, Robin Trower and Gary Husband and the original line-up of Asia.
The whole event will be held in an enormous 'Big Top'.

First Rehearsal
21st January, 2009The first rehearsal for the upcoming JLBJH live shows took place last week, and went very well. This was the first time that additional keyboard player Jez Smith had played with the band, but, as he was a closet BJH and prog rock fan back in the seventies, he had no problems fitting in! We'll be posting a proper biography on the site soon, but in the meantime, here's a photo:
